FIGHT 2 FIGHT (F2F) MOVEMENT OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES
F2F, CREATED BY HUSBAND/WIFE TEAM SINGER/SONGWRITER BRYNN MARIE AND PROFESSIONAL BOXER JOSH HIMES, IMPACTS NASHVILLE, PITTSBURGH, MIAMI AND SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC IN FIRST MONTH
Nashville, TN (February 2, 2017) - Fight 2 Fight (F2F), a worldwide movement where music and boxing collide as a catalyst for positive change, officially launched on January 1 and has already begun it’s global impact through appearances in Nashville, Pittsburgh, Miami and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. F2F programs feature Brynn Marie performing uplifting music including her new single “Phoenix,” the official theme song for F2F slated for release soon, and a brief boxing lesson by Himes who allows “fighters” to try out some punches while wearing his gloves. The movement, created by singer/songwriter Brynn Marie and husband and professional boxer Josh Himes to empower every day “fighters,” started in Nashville with various charities including Notes for Notes, Preston Taylor Boys & Girls Club, ABLE Youth, Abe’s Garden, 4:13 Strong, Thistle Farms and Musicians On Call. The impacts continued in January with stops in Pittsburgh, Miami and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
“We are continously blown away by the response of this movement and its ability to transcend all boundaries,” says Brynn Marie. “Through our seemingly very different passions of music and boxing, we have tapped into a unique and personal way to connect to people regardless of race, physical challenges, socioeconomic status or even language. Music touches the soul and boxing empowers us to keep pushing through our own hard times.”
“We are so excited about the launch of this movement and the feedback we have received from every day fighters has been so encouraging,” says Josh Himes. “It’s so special to be able to do this but even more special to do it alongside my wife.”
In one month, F2F encouraged every day fighters with many countless daily battles and the feedback has been overwhelming positive. From kids with physical disabilities and in wheelchairs, to women rescued from human sex trafficking, to young men getting a second chance at making better choices and having a better life, to teenagers in a foreign country, F2F continues to experience the power of this world changing movement.
“Thank you so much to Fight 2 Fight for joining our circle and sharing such inspiring words and music with us,” praises Jordan Walker from Thistle Farms. “We're all in the fight for love to win and are grateful for the encouragement that was so generously shared with us.”
“We were delighted to have Fight 2 Fight join us, who is a musician and a boxer, someone who is a champion of the fight that individuals battle each day. The highlight from the visit was meeting a Veteran who was having a really bad day and by F2F and Musicians On Call visiting him, had his spirits lifted. It was powerful,” says Katy Epley, Executive Vice President, Musicians On Call.
On Friday, January 27, Josh "Handsome Hitman" Himes competed in his first international fight in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As the main event, the Handsome Hitman came out victorious with a KO in the first round making his record 10 - 2. On the heels of his win, F2F continued the mission in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with Vida Joven Dominicana.
“We were encouraged by Josh and Brynn's testimony and empowered by how they use their lives to impact young people through boxing and music,” says Ray with YoungLife / Vida Joven Dominicana (Santo Domingo Oeste). “Everyone has a fighter inside and thanks to F2F our kids are reminded that they are all fighters and every day they must fight for their goals, their families and against sin.”
Through the launch of F2F, Brynn and Josh are committed to using their platforms of music and sports collectively as a catalyst to inspire “everyday” fighters. F2F believes that everyone is a fighter, whether its fighting for health, faith, fitness, career, freedom or against addiction. Everyone stands face to face with a fight daily.
F2F is slated to impact numerous cities across the country when they launch a nationwide tour later this year as well as an international tour with stops in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Africa and India.
